On the Friday 26th of April 2024 at the shed, the Hon. Jane Howlett MLA announced that the Tasmanian Government would provide $550,000.00 funding to the Sorell Council for the relocation of the Sorell Men’s shed to a new home at Pembroke Park. which will also include the Sorell Lions Club.
Barry Webb, President of men’s shed. congratulated those members past and present who have worked tirelessly to achieve a new shed for its members.
We would be remiss not to thank the Sorell Council, its officers and staff included for their support as well.
Our State politicians, representing Lyons electorate are also sincerely thanked for their bipartisan support for the funding of the new shed.
The Mayor Mr Kerry Vincent shared to the gathering that there will be space at the new site for the re-establishment of the Sorell Community Garden, an announcement we are sure will be warmly greeted by the community.
We look forward to working constructively with the Sorell Council with this major project.
